Darkness in its many shades.
Rough, dry surfaces of the volcanic deserts, beautifully contrasting with a delicate colour palette of the sky.
Weird, harsh vegetation sparsely spread on the dry soil.
Full of grace and gratitude; a tiny rain is enough to make all the plants flourish and grow into their weird shapes.
.
The painting series Harsh Beauty presented below was inspired by the moonlike landscape of Lanzarote, which I discovered in November 2017. The series is accompanied by a photography cycle: Rainbow of Darkness.
Both series tend to catch the surrealistic beauty of the immense volcanic deserts.

The collection was exhibited in July 2018 in Graumalerai Gallery, Berlin and will be expanded soon with new works.
